This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information when you visit locallivingrespite.ie, contact us, or enquire about our services. 2. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use the contact form on our website, email us or phone us, we may collect:
- your name, email address and phone number;
- what you are interested in (for example care for yourself, a parent or another person, or career opportunities);
- how you heard about us;
- anything you include in your message.
Health and care information
Because we provide respite care, you may choose to tell us about your own health or care needs, or those of a family member. This is “special category” data under the GDPR and we treat it with extra care. We only use it to respond to your enquiry and to assess whether and how we can provide care. Please share only what is needed at enquiry stage; we will discuss care needs in more detail with you directly.
If you give us information about another person (for example a parent you care for), please make sure they are aware and, where possible, agree to you sharing it.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our web server records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. This is used to keep the website secure and working properly.
Our website uses fonts provided by Google Fonts. To display them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which means your IP address is shared with Google. See Google’s Privacy Policy for more information.
3. How we use your information and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a callback or consultation – necessary to take steps at your request before providing a service (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To assess and plan care – where you share health information, we rely on your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)) and, where care is provided, the provision of health or social care (Article 9(2)(h)).
- To consider job applications if you enquire about career opportunities – necessary to take steps before entering a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To run and secure our website – our legitimate interest in operating a safe, working website (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations – where we are required to by law (Article 6(1)(c)).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Who we share your information with
We only share personal information where necessary, with:
- service providers who help us run our business, such as our website hosting, email and IT providers, who process data on our behalf and under contract;

We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond to you. If your enquiry does not lead to us providing care or employment, we delete it within 3 months. If we go on to provide care to you or your family member, or to employ you, your information will be kept in line with our care records and employment records retention policies and our legal obligations.

Under data protection law you have the right to:

- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use your information;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it).

8. Cookies
Our website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress may set essential cookies for site administrators who log in; these are not used for ordinary visitors. If we add cookies that are not strictly necessary in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
9. Keeping your information secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including a secure (HTTPS) website connection and restricting access to those who need it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please avoid sending detailed medical information through the website form.

Our website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 through it. Information about younger people who receive care is provided by and discussed with their parents or guardians.
